Welcome to The Knights of Longshank Homepage. We are a 13th/14th Century re-enactment society enacting the period of British history during the Anglo/Welsh/Scottish wars of Edward I and Edward II's reign. We travel the United Kingdom performing our shows from the hills of Wales to the lands of Scotland. We are not however an exclusively combat society and over the years we have been steadily building up our living history section and are currently looking for people from all walks of life to join that particular side of the group.

As ever the Knights are on the look out for more people to join our ranks, so if you have some weekends free during the Summer months and have a vaguely masochistic streak in your bones then please don't hesitate to drop me a line, we recruit from all corners of the British isles, so please don't be shy in contacting us. for recruitment details please use the 'contacts' link at the top of the site.

We also like to keep in touch with other groups from around the country and as such would like to swap links with any willing parties. All correspondence regarding links or membership should be addressed to myself at the link below. Changes to login

Due to the number of bots trying to access the forums I have been forced to disable the login box that integrated the website with the forum. As a result should you wish to join the knights Of Longshank forums you will need to create a new account HERE (Existing users will NOT be affected) Once you have created a new account you will have to wait for one of the admin team to authorise your login, generally speaking this is qute a speedy process however we do have jobs so please bear with us if it takes a few hours.

Well after much to-ing and fro-ing, contacts with German websites, nefarious web hosts and various other sorts, we finally have our original domain name back. From today www.longshank.co.uk will also point to this website, this was quite important as some older links spread about the web still pointed to that URL, which unfortunately would take visitors elsewhere. It took a while but we got there in the end, the .com address still works so no need to go c hanging your favourites link or anything, just business as usual.

New Gallery

Hello everybody, it's been a while since we had any information to partake, and this will be a small update just to let people know what's happening with the knights.

I have been working on a new gallery which is coming closer to fruition, the link at the top will take you to the new style which will make it easier to add images in the future. It's still a work in progress so please bear with me.
New dates have been booked for the 2010 season and will be forthcoming early next year when I am able to do a larger update.

That's it for now, I did say it would be short ;) These Winter months just aren't conducive to camping out in draughty castles so please expect a bigger update in the new year.

Registering with the site

Have you tried to register with the site but found that your account gets deleted or never gets activated? Well there could be a couple of resons for this, in the past we have had a number of accounts that are created automatically by bots for the purpose of spamming the forum or the website. As a result I have become somewhat Drachonic in my approach to users registering new accounts, anything that looks untoward gets deleted, no questions asked. To offer a simple guideline to anyone interested in joining us on the forum, do not use any username that could be misconstrued as being associated with sites of ill repute We don't want meds, nor any body parts enlarging and we won't be forwarding messages to 1,287,456 of our friends in the sure and certain hope that tomorrow our luck will change as a result. To our Russian friends, sorry but a .ru mail address will get you nowhere, no offence but 90% of the spam I have had to deal with has been from Russia (or at least a russian domain) use a reputable e-mail adress G-mail is aa big pain and even hotmail is somewhat frowned upon.

if however you are a legitimate user trying to get on but finding yourself left in the cold, then e-mail me (via the contacts link) and we'll see what we can do.
